Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
The most storied club in all of hockey history (as long as you don’t ask Toronto Maple Leafs fans), we have a neat group of memorabilia for the famous Montreal Canadiens, with signed items included from HOF legends Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau. First, we have a pair of signed full colour 8” x 10” photos, with one for Beliveau, one for Richard, with both signed in blue sharpie with flawless signatures. Next, we have a framed Beliveau display, with a centralized photo with stats listed, with a name plaque and pin inserted below. Framed to full dimensions of roughly 14 ½” x 18”, Jean has added a fiber-tip marker signature, with just light wear to the frame itself. The second Richard signature comes on a 1959-60 Parkhurst card of Richard signed by the deceased icon, with Maurice signing in thick black marker along the left hand side, with the card itself in low grade, with toning, corner wear and horizontal creasing. This is followed by an Edmonton Journal advertising card featuring Richard from 1989 (5 ½” x 8 ½”), with The Rocket adding a nice fiber-tip marker signature beneath his image. Moving right along, we also have a vintage Habs medium-sized polo shirt in solid red, a pair of Habs mini-sticks including an example with facsimile signatures, 8” x 10” colour photos (modern) of Plante and Worsley, a 16” x 20” black and white photo of Harvey (also modern), a laminated McDonald’s Canadiens place mat (11 ½” x 17”) from 1996 featuring Lafleur, Richard and Beliveau, a dry-mounted advertising poster for “Life After Hockey” (11” x 21”) featuring Richard, with accompanying advertising flyer and 2 ¼” pinback. Also included is a vintage red and white striped toque with “Montreal” on the front, and “Alouettes” handwritten on the reverse, along with a pair of table-top hockey games. The first was made by Golden Games in 1987 (7” x 12”), with a single player and goal, with NHL stickers including “AMHL” affixed. The second game was made by Perfect Solutions, and it appears to have never been used, with the original 16” x 4” x 8” box.
