Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
At the height of his game in the mid-to-late 1970s, Guy Lafleur was the NHL’s marquee superstar with six straight 50-goal seasons, including a career-high 60 goals to tie the Montreal Canadiens single season record in 1977-78. Guy! Guy! Guy! wore these Sher-Wood SP-5060 gloves during his final NHL season, with the Quebec Nordiques in 1990-91. Lafleur had 12 goals and 28 points in 59 games in his swan song campaign, his second with the Nordiques, to close out his career with 560 goals, 793 assists and 1,353 points. His number “10 handwritten inside the cuff is faded but clearly legible on the right glove, but less apparent on the left glove. Loads of wear to the outer padding and leather palms. Stitching on the left palm has let go between the index finger and the middle finger.
