Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
Selected by the Winnipeg Jets tenth overall at the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, Teemu Selanne would spend over two decades in the NHL, with the bulk of his time skating for the Ducks in Anaheim. The Finnish superstar would also represent his country on the international scale continuously throughout his career, including at the 1996 World Cup. We have a Team Finland jersey worn by Selanne during the 1996 WCOH pre-tournament, with this desirable example video-matched. JLP “XXL” tagging graces the collar (size 56), with the team crest, numbers and sponsorship crests all sublimated. A mesh nameplate with “Selanne” has been affixed to the lower reverse, with a few marks and burns over the lower front, along with additional marks over the right sleeve’s striping bands. The ripped seam and tear on the left shoulder have been matched to video from the August 16th 1996 pre-tournament game against Russia.
