Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Featuring both The Great One and The Golden Jet, we have an interesting lot of items that celebrate the careers of Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Hull. Included, we have a Hull signed photo and souvenir puck for his 1000th career goal, a program from the 1975 WHA All-Star Game, a 1979 signed and framed Hull/Nilsson lithograph, an Oilers commemorative 1987-88 Stanley Cup champions plate and a neat Gretzky clock from the 1980s. The lithograph is roughly 13” x 14” (exposed), triple-matted and framed to approx. 19” x 20”, with both players wonderfully depicted, with each adding a pencil signature along the base. Numbered “57/AP” (artist proof), the litho appears to be in excellent condition. The Hull signed photo pictures the HOFer in his Jets jersey, with “Goal 1000” along the base as well as the date of March 11th 1978. At 8” x 10 ¾”, Hull has added a large blue sharpie signature along with “HOF 1983”. The puck has a metal circular plaque mounted, with “1000” along with the date and particulars, with some minor staining along with a decal from “Diecast Products” in Winnipeg on the reverse. The WHA program has very light water staining with an intact center line-up section, while the 8 ½” 1987-88 Oilers plate pictures Gretzky and Messier hoisting the Stanley Cup, with front office executives listed on the reverse, along with a limited-edition number of “149”. Lastly, the vintage Gretzky clock by Sportart is glass-backed, and set into a wooden frame to full dimensions of approx. 13” x 19 ½”. With moderate wear to the glass and graphics, the clock remains in very good condition.
