Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
First played in 1976 with matches hosted in both Canada and the US, the inaugural Canada Cup tournament would witness a Canada vs Czechoslovakia final, with the boys representing the mighty maple leaf winning their first of four CC tournaments. We have a signed stick that was issued to HOF superstar Marcel Dionne for the event, along with a program and ticket stub. The stick is a CCM model with “Canada Cup 76” graphics, with “Dionne” stamped on the upper shaft. Never seeing use, the graphics exhibit some wear, with the lower striping accent intact. Marcel has signed over the handle in ballpoint, with the signature somewhat light and thin. The 64 page program has a loose center section listing the teams, with toning to the front cover along with heavy wear to the reverse including creasing. A signature (now faded) has also been placed along the upper front cover, along with a dedication. The 1 ½” x 2” ticket stub hails from the Sept 2nd round-robin contest that saw Canada defeat the Finns 11-2, and it shows light wear. With LOA from family of Ron "Prof Caron".
