Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Edmonton Oilers joining the NHL in 1979 along with the 20th anniversary of their first Stanley Cup win in 1984, the 2003 Heritage Classic pitted the Oilers against the famous Montreal Canadiens, with over 50,000 witnessing the event at Commonwealth Stadium. We have a limited-edition stick signed by some of the best players the Oilers’ franchise was ever blessed with. The 61” full-size adult stick was produced by NVS, with Heritage Classic graphics on both side of the shaft, with the limited-edition number of “232 of 3000” listed along the underside. Approx. 22 “MegaStars” have signed in black marker (one blue marker signature) on one side of the shaft, with some smudging/rubbing to a few of the signatures. Included are Gretzky, Messier, Linseman, Lowe, Fuhr, Beukeboom, Ranford, Coffey and others. The Gretzky displays well, with the “W” infringed upon slightly by another signature. We should also note that a few marks are present over a few of the autographs.
