Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A witness to countless epic hockey tilts among other entertaining spectacles, the Montreal Forum is widely considered the most important hockey venue in history, with some of the game’s greatest moments celebrated within its hallowed Saint-Catherine Street walls. We have a scarce original red Montreal Forum single seat with the original legs. Standing 33 ½” in height and hailing from the 1949-68 time frame, the seat was "retired" when the Forum was renovated in 1968, with the chairs with armrests making way for ones without to accommodate more fans. Featuring cast iron legs, the original stenciled white “5” remains intact along the upper seat back, with wooden arm rests and a plush padded leather-covered seat also utilized.
The seat remains in wonderful condition, with most of the original red finish intact, with some minor edge chipping along with a few blemishes to the dark red seat covering.
