Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Wonderful signatures from some of the most noteworthy Original Six era players are present, with a collection of two multi-signed displays, one featuring the Montreal Canadiens, the other the inaugural NHL All-Star Game in 1947, along with a Chicago Black Hawks replica puck signed by Bobby Hull. The first display features 3 famous Habs, with a black and white photo of the Richard brothers along with Dickie Moore, with each signing beneath their respective image in blue marker, with just the Pocket Rocket’s signature somewhat light. Triple-matted and framed to full dimensions of just over 15” x 15 ½”, a name plaque has been inserted along the base along with a pair of Canadiens pins. The second display features a black and white image of the participants from the 1947 NHL All-Star Game, with signatures added near their respective image by Bouchard, Reardon, Schmidt, Lindsay and Edgar Laprade. While the signatures display fairly well, we should note that the Bouchard and Reardon sit along the top border, with half of each signature either hidden beneath the matte, or trimmed away. Framed to full dimensions of just over 11” x 14”, the display remains in wonderful condition. Lastly, the replica puck is identical to the first rubberized team logo pucks the NHL began using in 1958, with the “Made in” designation on the Art Ross/Tyer label. Hull has signed around the Black Hawks logo in silver adding his number, with no issues for the puck or signature.
