Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
We've decided to start with the "more" since a 1964 Topps Mickey Mantle card, graded EX 5 by PSA, is included in cards not mentioned in our title. Other encapsulated baseball items are an 1887 Old Judge Cigarettes N172 card picturing Bill George and a T206 with Polar Bear back depicting George Mullen, both slabbed Poor 1 by SGC. Meanwhile, eight T212 Obak ball cards from 1910 feature colorful depictions of men who toiled in the Pacific Coast and Northwestern leagues. All are lower grade as well, with either paper loss or writing on the reverse, with the exception of one; Custer, Seattle (G+). Rather riveting are the colorized photos of soccer subjects, with 23 of 27 cards including "With the Editor's Complements" on the back and nine of those with an additional "British Team of Footballers". A little larger than tobacco cards, they're from the early-1920s and cool to check out. Completing the smorgasbord, are three rough condition Imperial Tobacco lacrosse cards. For those interested in the Obak lineup, joining Custer are Fitzgerald (Sacramento), Keener (Spokane), Mott (Tacoma), Mundorff (San Francisco), Ryan (Portland), Speas (Portland) and Thompson (Seattle).
