Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

Jacques Plante's famous 1955-56 Parkhurst rookie card is what you surely want to hear about first here, with this example of card #50 more pleasant to look at than a multi-creased low grade job, although this one is technically low grade as well. A large gum or wax stain affects the reverse, while subtler staining is spotted on the lower front. More importantly, the bottom edge exhibits not-totally-straight/smooth trimming, possibly done in an effort to even-out the diamond cut, observed in the top border. Meanwhile, three graded Plantes are present, with one '58-59 card #22 slabbed VG-EX 4 by PSA and another graded VG-EX+ 4.5 by Beckett. Better at EX 5 is Jacques' '60-61 Parkie, with a raw '60-61 looking similar but with a small stain in the right border. A tiny, subtle, barely detectable surface wrinkle lowers an otherwise EX-MT '59-60 Parkhurst card, while completing is an EX+ (OC) action shot (card #21) from '58-59.
