Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A regular along the Motor City blueline for two decades, Nicklas Lidstrom won an impressive four Stanley Cups during his career, along with the Conn Smythe Trophy for his performance in the 2002 playoffs. We have a stick used by the Swede, either during his rookie campaign in 1991-92 or second season. A Montreal 99 Graphite model, Lidstrom appears stamped onto the upper shaft, partially covered by the intact white tape over the handle. The original black tape over the blade is also present, with Nicklas adding a dark blue marker signature just above the heel section, and it displays well. Heavy use is exhibited on the early Lidstrom lumber, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with numerous marks and abrasions to the lower shaft.
