Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
One of the best clutch goalies in hockey history stars here, with Patrick Roy’s rookie card showing up in the second row from the bottom, fifth from the left on one of two uncut sheets which comprise a 1986-87 O-Pee-Chee complete set. Refreshingly, the two sheets are high grade and we cannot spot any creases – nice. Ditto for another complete set, appearing on either eight or nine card panels, with Wayne Gretzky joining a Roy RC on one of 24 eight-card panels and a John Vanbiesbrouck RC on one of eight nine-card sheets. Again, tiptop shape is to report with two complete sets of box bottom cards, (four cards on four folded complete boxes = 16-card sets, with no wear or creases; these never held any packs. Yet another set of box bottom cards are on four panels that were never made into boxes, with Gretzky and Lemieux cards highlighting. Looks like someone knew someone at the factory, if you follow, but kudos for whoever preserved the goodies for 30 years!
