Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Two of the most beloved number nines, Maurice Richard and Gordie Howe were regular competitors for over a dozen NHL seasons, with Howe surpassing The Rocket's all-time points record in 1960. We have individually signed and framed displays of each, along with a signed Richard puck and copy of Howe’s “Let’s Play Hockey”. The Richard photo is 8” x 10” (exposed) and in full colour, framed to total dimensions of 12” x 15”. Richard has signed beneath his image in thick blue sharpie, and the signature is gorgeous. At 11” x 15” (exposed), the Howe print was issued in the Prudential “Great Moments in Canadian Sports” series, matted and framed to full dimensions of approx. 15” x 19”. Mr Hockey has signed in black marker beneath his image, and the signature displays well. The Richard puck feature’s a portrait image of the HOF legend, with Maurice adding a thin marker signature along the right side that does exhibit some minor fading. Lastly, the Howe “Let’s Play Hockey” soft cover book was issued in 1972, and it remains in excellent condition.
