Gary Suter’s awesome Calgary Flames game-worn jersey with team repairs is photo-matched to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in his 1985-86 Calder Trophy season and also to 1986-87, when this set was worn late into the season and the Calgary 1988 Olympics patch was added to the left shoulder. Flag tags in the back of the neck include Maska and an “85 10” born-on-date tag (for October 1985). Suter’s jersey is photo-matched both with and without the Calgary 1988 patch to the long black mark that runs mostly vertically through the Flaming “C” crest sewn on the front in triple-twill. Extensive game wear includes board burns and unrepaired burn holes on both sleeves, and marks on the front, back, and both sleeves.
Suter was injured in the 1986 playoff series against Edmonton and missed the remainder of the playoffs. The embroidered rectangular CCM patch is sewn on the right rear hem. There are two team repairs on the left front tail at the hip, and a half-dozen extensive sewing fixes on the back of the left sleeve. The gold twill of the team crest, numbers on the back and both sleeves and surname letters on the nameplate are faded from repeated washing over the course of this gamer’s lengthy active duty.
