Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

One of the earlier Swedes to make the leap to the NHL, Michael Thelven would see action in parts of five seasons with the big bad Bruins of Boston, appearing in a total of 241 NHL contests including playoffs. We have a Bruins jersey worn by the Stockholm native in 1986-87, his second season in Beantown, and it’s been photo-matched. A partially detached Maska label along with a born-on date tag of “86 01” sit along the collar, with an embroidered CCM crest over the back bottom hem. Styled with the famous spoked-B team crest, the solid white V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder.
Game-wear is heavy on the vintage garment, with a number of dark marks over the front and sleeves including the team crest, along with considerable pilling to the inner sleeves. Half a dozen team repairs are also present, mostly isolated near the right elbow. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, an included numeric image has been matched to the two black marks on the back hem within the white striping band, and to the two black marks to the right of the left sleeve’s number.
