Combining physicality with skill, Doug Gilmour appeared for a number of NHL clubs throughout his career including Buffalo, Montreal, Chicago, and Calgary, the Kingston native also represented Canada, winning gold at the 1987 Canada Cup. We have a great group of items from Gilmour, including his early-2000s Buffalo Sabres game-used and signed Easton gloves and photo-matched signed Bauer skates, along with his signed game-issued Maple Leafs Hespeler stick from circa 1993-94. Regarding the photo-match, Getty Image #653519 from Nov 17th 2000 has been matched to the black marks below the “Tuuk” lettering on the right skate blade holder.
The Hespeler stick is a 5500 Fibretech model, in solid black, with “D Gilmore” on the upper shaft. Issued but never used, the stick remains in gorgeous condition, with Gilmore placing a large gold sharpie signature across the front side of the blade, and it displays well. Each Easton glove features cloth patches from the maker, with “Gilmour” screened over each wrist guard section. Doug has signed each over the thumb, with some minor smudging to the signature on the left glove. Great use is exhibited, with wear and rubbing to the leather with marks present, along with some light discolouration to the palms. The Bauer skates are Vapor models with intact lacing, with nice use exhibited, with numerous marks to the blade holders, along with cuts across the toe sections. Each has been signed by Gilmour in black marker, and the signatures display well.
