Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017

Chances are (extremely good) that the high bidder here will be as impressed as we are with the overall condition of these 1980s O-Pee-Chee offerings, lacking only a 1986-87 set for a comprehensive run. The ‘80s equal plenty of Wayne Gretzky cards, along with numerous important rookie cards of men now in the Hall of Fame. Pack-fresh cards abound, with of course some classic less-than-perfect OPC centering to mention, affecting notably the RCs of Messier, Bourque, Francis and Yzerman. Not bad considering the amount of rookies present and actually good centering, overall, striking this writer; our consignor paid attention to detail and sought quality over the years. We would say that the first couple of sets (’80-81, ’81-82) average NM, with NM-MT for the rest. Two or three or four wrapper variations from each year are fine complements, as are ’87-88 and ’88-89 OPC “mini” sets. Please visit see our website for a rundown of the key RCs included in this inviting group. Addendum; description should have read "lacking only a 1985-86 and a 1986-87 set for a comprehensive run"
This instant collection or inventory will wield the following not-already-mentioned rookie cards: Mike Gartner, Michel Goulet, Mike Liut, Paul Coffey, Jari Kurri, Andy Moog, Glen Anderson, Kevin Lowe, Denis Savard, Peter Stastny, Dino Ciccarelli, Larry Murphy, Grant Fuhr, Dale Hawerchuk, Joe Mullen, Pelle Lindbergh, Scott Stevens, Phil Housley, Guy Carbonneau, Doug Gilmour, Cam Neely, Chris Chelios, Pat LaFontaine, Luc Robitaille, Adam Oates, Mike Vernon, Brett Hull, Brendan Shanahan, Pierre Turgeon, Joe Nieuwendyk, Brian Leetch and Joe Sakic. What a lineup from the high-scoring 1980s!
