Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Unopened packs and inserts lead this groovy and tempting assembly, with a 1972-73 OPC 3rd Series pack (which includes those first WHA cards!) graded Mint 9 by GAI and a 2nd Series pack from '73-74 close at NM-MT+ 8.5 a splendid start, with a similar '73-74 wrapper also present. Seven '68-69 puck stickers are all in the EX neighborhood and include HOFers Beliveau, Gilbert, Hall, Plante and Horton. A 4-in-1 from '69-70 featuring Cheevers and Gilbert and another starring Mahovlich are graded EX 5 by PSA, with a raw example including Howe similar and a crease spotted in ones picturing Ratelle and Richard. Two albums for the mini cards (Canadiens, Seals) are NM. "Rings" from '73-74 total 13, (12 diff.) and are mostly EX or better, with '70-71 Dad's Cookies cards of Sather (PSA 9) and Perreault (EX) and a Hat Trick "slip", as well as '84-85 OPC items completing and more details on our website.
Joining the aforementioned '68-69 puck stickers are those of goalies Crozier and Hodge, while the Dad's Cookies Hat Trick affair is a seldom-seen little coupon-like affair that advertises the promotion, stating that "The official NHL Players Association milk chocolate bar will be available in September." Meanwhile it reveals that, in the meantime, three "slips" could be mailed-in with 10 cents in exchange for a NHLPA decal. And now to the '84-85 material, led by an unopened wax pack, graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by GAI and an Instant Winner Card, (for a complete set of cards in three uncut sheets), the winner card slabbed NM-MT 8 by PSA. A raw rookie card of Hall of Famer Chris Chelios is in crease-free EX+ condition and finally, there's a small sheet (approx. 3" x 5") advertising that season's cards and the company's contest, which included a chance to win Stanley Cup Finals tickets.
