This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
One of the most collected of all hockey items, pucks allow collectors to chase an endless supply of countless varieties that also happen to be ideal in size for both storage and display. We have a premium collection that focuses on the black rubber discs, including the 1972-74 Standard Brands complete set of 16 NHL pucks plus plaques (2) and ad, the 1970s Maple Leaf Chips NHL standing board with complete set of 14 pucks and the 1977-78 Dairy Queen Sundae pucks near-set (16 - missing 2 for completion) with standings display. We also have the 1972-74 Coleco Trophy set with display box and instructions + ad (1 missing plaque + 2 broken trophies).
The 1972-74 Standard Brands NHL pucks plaques both show light wear with intact easels, with one example having glue strips added for each puck holder. The pucks, complete at 16, show varying degrees of wear with the main issue just minor to moderate toning to the labels. The 1977-78 Dairy Queen Sundae pucks need just Detroit and Chicago for completion, with the pucks and labels in wonderful condition with just light expected wear, while the 26” x 29” Standings display exhibits wear just along the aprons. Next, the Maple Leafs Chips pucks all display nicely, with minor wear to the Penguins puck and Canadiens team logo, with the styrofoam display having some creases with light discolouration. Lastly, the Coleco Trophy set comes in its original box that shows expected wear, with 1 missing plaque and 2 broken trophies. The original accompanying 4” x 6” brochure has no damage, while the original colour advertisement picturing the set exhibits handling wear.
