Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Hockey immortal Howie Morenz stars here and it is the item without an image of the icon that leads in way of scarcity and intrigue. A thin cardboard promotional item, in the shape of a feather (9-1/2"), is from the Morenz Memorial game in 1937. It has a few light creases and was a product of "Canadian Industrial Alcohol Co.", makers of Super Maple Leaf Anti-Freeze(!). A Canadian Gum card has glue residue/staining on the reverse and is slightly stained on the front but has the appearance of a VG example, while a Crown Brand photo, (partially un-glued), looks to be on its original beige backing with no unsightly creases to report. A light lower left corner crease and a touch of staining on the reverse is to mention. From Morenz' brief stint with the Black Hawks is a Diamond Match matchbook cover with light creases and a struck striker. A fine foursome featuring the man who struck fear into many opposing netminders.
