Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
The first European netminder in history to win the Vezina Trophy, Pelle Lindbergh spent five seasons with the Flyers in the early-to-mid-1980s, cementing his reputation as arguably the best non-North American goaltender since Vladislav Tretiak. Originating directly from Lindbergh’s family, we have a highly desirable 1982-83 NHL All Rookie Team plaque that was awarded to the talented Swede, along with a pair of team photos and tickets stubs, all hailing from Lindbergh’s time in the City of Brotherly Love. The roughly 10” x 14" plaque features an affixed gold-coloured puck with laurel wreath above, and engraved plate below stating the particulars including the year with “Pelle Lindbergh”. The team photos originate from both 1982–83 and 1983–84, with one example mounted to cardboard - with each having labels listing both the year and players. The ticket stubs number four in total and hail from 1983, with three regular season examples along with a Stanley Cup playoffs stub. The plaque remains in wonderful condition with light wear including a dent along the name plate, while the 10 ½” x 13 ½” photos exhibit just light wear and remain in wonderful condition.
