This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
A winner of consecutive Stanley Cups with the Philadelphia Flyers in 1974 and ’75, winger Gary Dornhoefer spent over ten years with the club, retiring in 1978 with over 500 career points. This Clarence Campbell Bowl was presented to the Kitchener native for the Flyers status as Western Division Champions in 1974-75. Standing 11” in height, a miniature plated Campbell trophy sits atop a finished 3” hexagonal wooden base. With chased features on the lid and bottom, engraved text proclaims “Philadelphia Flyers 1975-76 Gary Dornhoefer”, while the back has “Clarence S. Campbell Bowl 1968”. The Flyers would complete the 1974-75 season 51-18-11, with Bobby Clarke named season MVP.
The trophy remains in excellent condition with moderate wear, with some surface loss along the handles and around the top finial. There is also wear to the rim just above the “Clarence S Campbell” text, with the lid presently glued shut.
