Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2002-03 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead, with this section of impressive jerseys offered online with the familiar Classic Auction bidding rules applying.
Alex Galchenyuk’s 2014-15 Montreal Canadiens game-worn jersey displays the Jean Beliveau memorial patch on the right breast. The round black patch with Beliveau’s retired No. 4 in white was worn by the Canadiens for the rest of the regular season and through the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs following the death of their legendary center at the age of 83 on December 2, 2014. Galchenyuk, who was chosen third overall by Montreal in the 2012 NHL Draft, had 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points in his third season with the Habs, who finished in first place in the Atlantic Division with a 50-22-10 record for 110 points. “3” is handwritten in black marker in the back of the neck, which has a size 56 flag tag. Game wear includes a black mark on the red twill at the top of the CH crest sewn on the front, which has a couple of scuff marks on the bottom, a long diagonal light black mark below the crest on the front tail, a small mark above the crest, a couple of black marks on the fabric panel between the upper right front and the front of the right sleeve, marks high on the front of the left sleeve, a small unrepaired burn hole on the back of the left shoulder yoke, a few light marks low on the right sleeve, which has an unrepaired burn hole on the red fabric cuff, and light marks on the lower left sleeve. The Canadiens 2014-15 Game-Worn Jersey patch sewn inside the rear tail displays No. A03675. The Canadiens hologram sticker applied to the bottom of the “7” on the back has registry No. GU11113, which corresponds to the team LOA that accompanies this jersey.
