Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Currently the special assistant to the general manager of the Detroit Red Wings, long-time Motor City resident Kris Draper is a four-time Stanley Cup champion as well as a recipient of the Frank J. Selke Trophy. We have a Red Wings jersey worn by the Toronto native in 2001-02, and it’s been photo-matched. Size tagging appears along the collar, with embroidered KOHO and NHL crests on the back neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the classic winged-wheel team crest, the red V-neck has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Draper” placed directly onto the jersey in matching material. The team stamp resides on the inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “2nd Set” example. A COA from the Red Wings organization will accompany.
We should note that the still-attached Detroit team store price tag resides along the collar. Game-wear on the Wings sweater includes dark marks on the lower front band, with numerous examples over each sleeve, along with 14 team repairs split evenly between the sleeves. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Getty Image #550822 from March 23rd 2002 has been matched to a pair of black marks on the 2nd "3" of "33" on the right sleeve, and to a pair of partially washed-out black marks on the lower white band on the front of the jersey (when viewed from front on the left lower side).
