Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Featuring the man responsible for the success of the WHA, we have a signed stick used by superstar legend Bobby Hull during his heyday with the Chicago Black Hawks during the mid-1960s. A Northland Pro model, “B Hull” along with his preferred lie of “6” are stamped-on, with additional stamps on each side of the shaft from Hawks’ supplier Gunzo’s in Berwyn. Originating from circa 1964-65, the desirable lumber retains its original tape on both the blade and knob, with light use exhibited including some wear to the blade along with a few marks to the lower shaft. Vintage ballpoint signatures from Bobby, along with his bother Dennis are present, with a larger modern black marker signature also added by the HOFer.
Some fading is present on the vintage Bobby Hull signature, with the larger marker example also featuring “The Golden Jet”. The other side of the shaft appears to sport faded signatures along with a dedication, but these have worn beyond legibility.
