A wonderful grouping of vintage baseball items are here for your perusal, focusing on both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. We have 3 H&B bats, with Lou Gehrig and Al Simmons store models along with a Ruth career stats bat, followed by a framed black and white print of Ruth and Gehrig, along with 4 modern prints of Ruth. There is also a small hand-held baseball dexterity game, entitled “Ruth’s Baseball Game”. The Gehrig bat is an H&B Leader model from the 1932-52 labeling period, with “Lou Gehrig Model” across the barrel in block letters. At 34”, the bat remains in excellent condition with light to moderate use. The Simmons bat is a 40AS signature model at 35” from the 1921-31 labeling period, with a perfect center brand and just very light wear. Next, the Ruth stats bat is modern and 34 ¾” in length, with a Ruth signature stamping over the barrel along with “Career – 1914 to 1935 Lifetime B.A. - .342 Home Runs – 714”. With a beautiful finish and flawless stampings, the bat remains in gorgeous high-grade. The Ruth/Gehrig photo is framed to roughly 18 ¾” x 19 ¾”, and it pictures the sluggers with a name plaque added beneath. The Ruth game is 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” and was produced by James R Irvin & Co out of Chicago. Made of metal and cardboard, one shakes the game to place the rings over the pegs set at each base. The bottom has wear and is slightly pushed-in, with the home plate ring detached. Lastly, the four modern Ruth prints are all 8” x 10”, with examples including the Sultan of Swat with Ty Cobb, one with Lou Gehrig, one with Bill Dickey and one other, along with an image of Ruth at the plate.
