Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
Extraordinary memorabilia from the epic Canada-Russia Series features 29 ballpoint signatures that were penned back in Sept of 1972 when the hockey world sat on the edge of its seat to witness an unprecedented eight-game war! This 48-page program, like the ones that were sold during the four games played in Canada, was signed on the cover by the likes of Phil and Tony Esposito, Dryden, Cournoyer, Lapointe, Park, Pete Mahovlich, Ratelle, coaches Sinden and Ferguson and the rest of the supporting cast. Other highlights include the sigs of the late Bill Goldsworthy and Gary Bergman, with Alan Eagleson signing above his photo on page 5 as the program was originally obtained from his collection.
Also signing were Stapleton, White, Berenson, Dionne, Parise, Redmond, Cashman, Seiling, Awrey, Glennie, Tallon and Eddie Johnston. The back cover meanwhile is where Henderson, F Mahovlich, Clarke and Ellis applied attractive autographs. With some toning and light spot staining, the program remains in pleasing condition, with light wear to the interior along with a few random creases to the covers.
