Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
At the start of the 2005-06 season, each NHL team wore a Katrina patched jersey in the 1st period of their opening home games. The NHL and the NHLPA later auctioned these jerseys with the proceeds going to support those affected by Hurricane Katrina. We have such a jersey offered, with an Atlanta Thrashers example worn by Czech defenceman Jaroslav Modry. Size tagging is affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests over the bottom hem and back neckline respectively. Styled with a large and attractive multi-coloured Thrashers team crest, the tie-neck has also been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Atlanta” placed vertically along the left sleeve in tri-colour drop-shadow letters. The important Katrina patch resides just beneath the right shoulder. With no discernible game-wear present, the garment remains in gorgeous condition. A MeiGray patch numbered C00747 sits on the inside hem for assured authenticity.
