Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
For those collectors who just can’t get enough of the big bad Boston Bruins, we have a tremendous gathering of Beantown material that includes original artwork, autographs and items from the personal collection of Bruins legend Johnny Bucyk. Highlights include a framed (10” x 19 ½”) photo of the 1939 Stanley Cup Victory Dinner at Boston Garden, with the team pictured including Shore, Ross and others. Next we have an Eddie Shore tribute program from 1933, a photo of Tiny Thompson (7” x 11”) with a pair of Red Sox, original artwork of Eddie Shore (7” x 8 ½”), Bruins Christmas cards (13) from the 1970s, ‘80s and 1990s, HOF passes and autographed photos from the collection of Johnny Bucyk, a vintage program page signed by Brimsek, Dumart and Milt Schmidt and more!
Also included in this neat Bruins collection, we have an original 1944 media photo (7” x 9 ½”) with Art Ross and Pat Egan in poor condition, a complete 1964 Bruins calendar (10” x 14”) that exhibits spotting and heavy toning, an award (4” x 1” x 5”) given to Johnny Bucyk in 1974 from the American Heart Association, photocopied scrapbooks with the seasons newspaper articles for 1944-45, 1945-46 and 1946-47, Bruins colouring books (5) from the very early-1970s in high-grade and signed photos from Milt Schmidt, Bernie Parent, Johnny Bucyk, Gilles Gilbert (4 total, 3 different), Terry O’Reilly, John McKenzie, Pete Peeters, Gerry Cheevers, Gilles Marotte, Rick Middleton and others. There are also postcards from the Bucyk collection along with a signed copy of the 2005 Classic Auctions John Bucyk auction catalog. We should also note that the Eddie Shore program exhibits a stain along the top portion of the spine that permeates through, and the program is now void of its original cover photo.
