Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
The first player from Labrador and Newfoundland to have his name engraved on Lord Stanley’s hardware, Dan Cleary is currently playing for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL. This Detroit Red Wings jersey was worn by Cleary in the Hall of Fame Game in 2009-10, and it’s been photo-matched. With CCM size tagging affixed to the collar, the “Red Set-1” sweater also has embroidered NHL and Reebok patches on the front and back necklines respectively. With a gorgeous and classic winged-wheel team crest, the HHOF patch sits over the right breast.
Game-use includes just a few dark marks present, along with a ton of team repairs. 12 repairs are found on the right sleeve near the elbow, 18 on the left sleeve, along with 3 more around the shoulder area. As mentioned, this garment has been photo-matched. Getty image #93341253 from November 7th 2009 has been matched to the two team repairs on the right sleeve just below the lower white stripe. The team stamp sits on the inner hem along with “48978”, and a COA from the Red Wings organization will come with this well used jersey.
