Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
From the height of the Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup dynasty comes this signed Mark Messier mid- to late-1980s Oilers game-used Sher-Wood stick. “Messier” and “11” are stamped on the upper shaft, which retains the six-time Stanley Cup champion’s black tape job on the knob. Mess’s tape job also remains on the blade of this solid and crack-free beauty wielded by one of the most durable and highest-scoring players in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Messier signed with his number 11 in black marker above the heel on the fiberglass wrap, with “Best Wishes” written in black marker just above it on the wood portion of the lower shaft.
Game use shows in light wear to the bottom edge of the tape job on the blade.
