Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
A career that spanned over 15 seasons, Dennis Kassian saw action in the WHL, WHA, CPHL and EPHL. This grouping of material all stems from Kassian’s personal collection and includes game-worn gloves, letters, programs and a Salt Lake Golden Eagles souvenir puck. First we have a well-worn pair of Cooper gloves that have been photo-matched to a 1970-71 Salt Lake Golden Eagles team photo (included) that shows Kassian wearing this very pair. With puck and stick marks throughout, the gloves feature tape-repaired fingers with #8 decals that have peeled. Next we have a pair of blue and yellow Cooper BSP model gloves that Kassian wore while participating in the Buffalo Sabres training camp in 1970. Heavy use is exhibited on these gloves including tape-repaired fingers, with the palms being almost completely worn away. This is followed by a letter from deceased Sabres President and Hall of Famer Seymour Knox, welcoming Kassian to the Buffalo organization. A second accompanying letter on Edmonton Oilers letterhead is from Hall of Fame GM Glen Sather in 1990, thanking Dennis for participation in some sort of oldtimers game. Rounding out the lot we have a Salt Lake Golden Eagles souvenir puck, along with 2 complete Salt Lake programs featuring matches with Seattle and Portland, with both showing wear from water damage.
