Ed Belfour used this stick in the game he recorded his 448th win surpassing the legendary Terry Sawchuk for all-time career wins. With the original tape on the blade and shaft/knob, the photo-matched stick has additional “gauze-style” tape on the handle just above the paddle. Stamped “Belfour” and “20”, a handwritten notation on the underside of the shaft states the item’s historic origin. From the personal collection of Ed Belfour, a signed LOA from Ed will accompany.
It was on December 19th 2005 that Ed recorded his 448th NHL win which moved him, at the time, in second place for wins all-time in the NHL. Ed currently sits in third place for wins all-time in the NHL, in his rightful place with the greatest goalies of the game. Game-use includes a number of puck marks on both sides of the blade, as well as red goal post paint transfer to the lower paddle and shaft. As mentioned, the stick has been photo-matched to two different photos that show the identical two puck marks on the blade near the tip, and to the red goal post paint transfer along the top of the blade, as well as other marks. The all-important notation on the stick states in full, “12/19/05 vs NYI Tor 9 NYI 6 448th Career Win – 2nd All-Time”.
