Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Widely considered as one of the greatest hockey games ever played, the 1975 New Year’s Eve tilt between the Habs and the Soviet Red Army saw a dominant Montreal team humbled by an unbelievable goaltending performance from a young 23 year old Russian named Vladislav Tretiak. Included are both a ticket stub for the game and a program that’s been signed by 8 on the cover including Jean Beliveau, Serge Savard, Guy Lapointe, Guy Lafleur, Yvan Cournoyer, Steve Shutt, Jacques Lemaire and Pete Mahovlich. All signatures have been penned in black marker, and all are in beautiful condition.
The 64 page program itself is complete and in very good condition with intact center line-up page, just showing regular wear from handling which includes a few small creases on the spine. The 3” x 4” ticket stub was for the lower mezzanine and it has a pen notation of the 3-3 score as well as “1975”. A few creases on the ticket stub are also present.
