Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
An important historic item hailing from the original expansion era of the late-1960s, we have a uniquely decorated caramel-colored pro-style fiberglass goalie mask. A mere 9 ¼ inches lengthwise and currently void of any strapping, the mask was designed with three openings over the forehead section, along with a small round opening just above the chin. A number of circular pads are affixed to the interior, with examples that appear to have been added later but still contemporary to use. Pseudo-stitches have been painted over the mask in off-white, with a design added over the nose bridge. There is also some light residue – dark in colour – over a few small sections of the interior.
