Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The first netminder credited with scoring a goal, Billy Smith spent 17 prosperous seasons in New York with the Islanders, winning 4 Stanley Cups along the way as well as being enshrined in hockey's house of holy in 1993. We have a stick used by the Perth native circa-1980, and it's been signed. A KOHO Pro model, the stick retains its original black tape over the blade and white over the knob, with an additional black tape knob on the upper shaft. "31" has been handwritten, with Smith adding a currently-faint signature over the front side of the handle. Nice use is exhibited, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with a large chip to the top side of the paddle that runs halfway down the length.
