Spending numerous seasons with Västerås IK Hockey in the Swedish Elite League, Peter Popovic was drafted by Montreal in 1988, with parts of five seasons spent with the club. This Montreal Canadiens jersey is attributed to have been worn by Popovic in 1997-98 and then recycled for an unknown player named Tremblay, and worn in the preseason in circa the late-1990s. A Starter Center Ice label is affixed to the collar, with a “58-R” size swatch placed on the inside hem. There are also Starter and NHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “34” appears over the sleeves and verso in white-over-blue tackle twill, with “Tremblay” across the affixed nameplate in single white twill. There is also evidence of a former shorter nameplate under the current example. Exhibiting a few scuff marks across the team crest, there are also board burns over each sleeve and shoulder, with a large burn ripping the material near the NHL crest over the reverse hem. A few team repairs are also present, with three over the left elbow and one on the right, with a few small holes/slits also visible. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, a signed LOA from Rejean Houle on Montreal Canadiens letterhead will accompany.
