Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Arguably the greatest of the early 20th-century hockey clubs when combining both their star-studded line-up along with their Stanley Cup prominence, the Ottawa Senators were also one of the earliest notable clubs, icing their first team in 1883. While known originally as the Ottawa Hockey Club, monikers such as the Generals (1890s) and Silver Seven (1903-07) were also utilized, with the “Senators” nickname seeing use the season before the offered “1909 Ottawa Hockey Club Team” postcard was produced. An image of an original cabinet photo with portrait-cameos, HOFers Taylor, LeSueur, Stuart, Gilmour and Marty Walsh are pictured, with a clean, divided postal reverse.
With heavy toning to both the front and reverse, a number of small creases are visible, with a pair of small edge tears along the right border. The bottom left corner has also been torn.
