Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/4/2014
From the Saskatoon Wesleys, a Saskatchewan Jumior Hockey League (SJHL) team in existence from 1949-1955 is this sharp-looking dark navy blue blazer with the felt Wesley patch sewn on the left breast pocket. Tagged in the collar as “Blackburn All Wool Fabric, Made in England” and on the inside pocket as “Mallin’s Men’s Wear, Saskatoon”, this jacket has been preserved in excellent condition with no holes, marks, fraying, or any issues whatsoever. There’s no size tag but we believe it’s about a men’s 42, with a measuring of approximately 20” across the underarms and 33” from back collar to tail. HOFer Sid Abel suited up for the Wesleys, and when the franchise had previously been part of the Northern Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, HOFers Doug Bentley, Chuck Rayner, and Clint Smith laced up for the team.
