Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Looking for some cool artifacts like no other? How about four original bricks from “The Brickyard” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway! Bricks were laid at the hallowed ground in 1909, while gradually throughout the years, asphalt was added to the brick surface until finally, in 1938, the entire track was paved except for the middle portion of the front straightaway. But paving continued at the historic track, and in 1988 all but a 36-inch strip of bricks, known as the fabled “Yard of Bricks” were removed. We’ve got four of the original bricks from “The Brickyard, measuring approximately 9 ½ x 4 x 3 ½, all with original markings of “Culver Block” and the date “May 21, 1901” on them. A wonderfully important piece of racing history for the taking, and you can even kiss them if you want, as champion drivers do now at the Yard of Bricks.
