It was two minutes for looking so good for both the immortal Maurice Richard and baseball’s legendary Cy Young, as they made sure they had close shaves to battle hard on the field and ice, and meet their adoring public. From the estate of Cy Young, of whom of course the award for best pitcher is named after, comes his personal 1920s straight razor, with a letter of provenance from Historic Auctions stating that it was in storage with the rest of his Estate for over 50 years, and was used during the later years of Cy’s marriage to Roba. Set in a nice collector’s case, this razor remains in wonderful condtion with black handle intact, and with “New Departure Razor” and “Clauss Fremont” engraved on the blade. Cy Young played 21 seasons in the bigs, from 1890 to 1911, compiling 511 wins, best in MLB history, and was elected to Cooperstown in 1937. Nestled in its brown Sunbeam Shavemaster case is the electric razor once belonging to none other than Maurice “Rocket” Richard, slightly worse for wear now, obviously from lots of use by the man who struck terror into the hearts of opposing goalies. This electric razor was originally obtained from the Richard family and comes with an LOA stating it was the Rocket’s personal razor.
