"Touch 'em all, Joe. You'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!" The late Tom Cheek, the Toronto Blue Jays' Hall of Fame broadcaster, delivered the perfect call of Joe Carter's dramatic World Series winner in 1993. Carter's three-run blast off Philadelphia's Mitch Williams at SkyDome won Game 6 and gave the Blue Jays their second straight title. This personal 1993 Toronto Blue Jays World Series Champions Commissioner's Trophy is the one that was presented to Bob Didier, who was the Blue Jays' minor league catching instructor and manager of the Syracuse Chiefs, Toronto's Triple-A International League affiliate. Impressive award stands 15" tall overall as displayed on a custom-made base. The original trophy is 12" tall from the bottom of the round base to the top of the tallest of the 28 pennant flagpoles representing all of the major league teams, including 1993 National League expansion franchises, the Colorado Rockies and Florida Marlins. Blue Jays and Phillies World Series pins are mounted on the bottom in front of a baseball that anchors a gold-colored band with a crown perched on top. "World Series Champions, Toronto Blue Jays 1993, Bob Didier" reads the front of the gold-colored band that encircles the 2 1/2" tall black base. “Toronto Blue Jays, 1993 World Series Champions” reads the plaque affixed to the front of the 2 1/2" tall custom-made wood base with five sides that evokes a stylized home plate. Also included is a plastic display case and cover for the trophy that gives the display an overall height of just under 16” when mounted in place on the custom-made base.
