Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
From the man who was a legendary hockey collector, a goal judge at the Montreal Forum, and a supremely talented painter who created the iconic images for the 1983 Hockey Hall of Fame postcard set, Carlton McDiarmid, comes this awesome original art watercolor-on board painting of former Boston and ’72 Summit Series coach Harry Sinden when Sinden was captain of the Allan Cup-winning Whitby Dunlops that represented Canada and won gold at the 1958 World Championships in Oslo, Norway. Sinden would also be chosen to play for Canada, (with the Kitchener-Waterloo Flying Dutchmen), where he and the Dutchmen collected a silver medal. This Carleton McDiarmid original watercolor on medium-thick illustration board measures a nice 12” x 18”, with “Mac” signing above Sinden’s right shoulder. Mr. McDiarmid would pass away in Montreal on April 25, 2009 at the age of 72.
