Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Martin Brodeur has certainly staked his claim to the title of the Greatest Goalie Ever and there's no doubt the Hockey Hall of Fame will welcome him with open arms, if he ever hangs up his skates and battered chest protector! The numbers tell the tale. Marty is the all-time leader in goalie wins with 669 through the 2012-13 season as well as games played (1,220), shutouts (121) and goals scored, with two in the regular season and another in the playoffs. And, of course, three Stanley Cups with the New Jersey Devils. Brodeur was at the height of his powers when he wielded this Heaton game-used stick with the Devils during the 2001-02 season. A "05 Sep. 2001" date stamp sits above the "M. Brodeur" stamp high on the front of the shaft which retains Marty's nicely-worn white tape knob, which has frayed and loose threads sprouting from its edges. Brodeur's tape job remains on the blade of this solid gamer that displays good game use with puck marks and red goalpost paint transfer on the paddle, nice wear on the bottom edge of the blade's tape job, a gouge on the top edge of the blade near the heel with small cracks and a surface slice on the back side of the paddle.
