Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Hall-of-Famers Scott Stevens and Joe Sakic are featured in this lot of four sticks that include gamers from Jeff Friesen and Doug Weight.
Stevens led the New Jersey Devils to three Stanley Cups as team captain and was inducted into the HOF in 2007. Scott’s Sher-Wood PMP 7000 game-used stick has “Stevens” stamped on the shaft with the number “3” he wore with the Washington Capitals handwritten below that in black marker. Scott’s white tape knob remains intact. His tape job was removed from the now-bare blade, which has nice game wear on his custom-shaved bottom edge.
“Sakic” is stamped on the shaft of Joe’s Canadien 6001 game-issued wood stick in white and blue colors that likely dates from the early part of his HOF career with the old Quebec Nordiques.
Friesen has signed in black marker low on the shaft of his Bauer wood gamer. “J Friesen” is stamped on the shaft which retains Jeff’s white tape knob. Friesen’s black tape job on the blade also remains intact with nice game wear along the bottom edge.
Weight’s original tape jobs remain on the knob and blade of his Easton two-piece gamer with an Ultra Lite Graphite 100 composite shaft and wood blade insert which displays lots of nice game use in the form of red paint transfer, wear to the tape and black marks.
