Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
On the evening of November 19th, 2007, fans who came to watch the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre were witness to a memorable ceremony as long-time Habs defenseman and Hockey Hall of Fame member Larry Robinson (inducted 1995) saw his number "19" banner raised to the rooftop. We have a home red Habs RBK jersey from that big night, tagged in the collar as a size 54 and issued for Habs defenceman Josh Gorges, who didn’t play due to injury, which displays the commemorative Larry Robinson Jersey Retirement Night patch on the right breast with the date "November 19th, 2007", in French, while the man of the hour, Robinson, has signed his name beside the patch in clear black marker. Just a wonderful memento from the night one of the greatest Habs of all time was honored. As a bonus we’re including a game-used Gorges “Bauer Vapor” stick, now with the blade broken off, with Gorges’ original blade tape on the blade and white tape on the knob. “Gorges 26” graphics are on the shaft. From a Habs blueline leader of the 70s and 80s to a present day Habs blueline leader. A nice combination.
