Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
Rugged forward Scott Thornton, with 17 NHL seasons and a Battle of the Blades championship under belt, donned this Edmonton Oilers gamer during the 1992-93 campaign when he divided his year between the big-league Oilers and their minor league Cape Breton affiliate. Tagged in the collar as a Maska Air-Knit, with a size 54 flap alongside, this Thornton gamer shows several marks scattered throughout, and includes an unrepaired hole on the front hem. On the right breast is a sewn-on Centennial patch, with the outline of the 75th patch clearly visible around it, with the gamer showing no signs of a nameplate or number change. A fine game-worn jersey from a fellow whose career saw him suit up for 6 different teams over the years, beginning in 1990 with Toronto and ending in 2008 with L.A. Comes with 2 Oilers LOAs with facsimile Peter Pocklington signatures, plus a couple of Meigray documents.
