Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014

Hard hitting and popular Habs defenceman Dollard St. Laurent wielded this CCM gamer in the mid-1950s when the Montreal Canadiens were only just beginning to embark on their legendary and record breaking five-straight Stanley Cups. With original black tape on the blade with white knob tape, this St. Laurent gamer shows three small rips in the blade tape, marks scattered from top to bottom, with marks and tape yellowing on the knob. A small age crack is noticeable on the tip of the blade. The Habs’ supplier of sticks back then is shown stamped on the shaft as “Supplied by Raymond Hardware Ltd. Sporting Goods”, with “St. Laurent” and “19” stamped on the upper part of the shaft. St. Laurent has signed in black marker on the aged look of the wood on the shaft. Simply a terrific game-used stick from a rugged Habs defenceman who was part of the first three of five straight Cup wins with the bleu, blanc et rouge.
