Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
A cool classic V-style Canucks jersey offered here, worn by forward Bill Derlago during the 1979-80 campaign, his second of two seasons in Vancouver. In the hem of this mesh gamer are two patches sewn on - "Bill Vanderburg Company" and "Goodman & Sons (size) 48", which is all the labeling to be found. A scattering of marks are on the front, and a small amount of marks are on both sleeves, with an unrepaired hole to mention on the right sleeve and a cut fight strap inside. Number "10" has been sewn on the lower sleeves near the cuffs, and the "Derlago" lettering is individually sewn on the nameplate. In February of 1980, Derlago and teammate Rick Vaive were sent to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Tiger Williams and Jerry Butler, a trade which sent rumblings through the hockey world. Derlago enjoyed several fine seasons in Toronto, as did Vaive, while Williams in particular was embraced by Canucks fans.
