It was during forward Dennis Ververgaert's 2nd season with the Philadelphia Flyers, the 1979-80 campaign, that saw him don this white twill Flyers home jersey while notching 14 goals and 17 assists. Tagged in the collar as a medium Goodman & Sons, this Ververgaert gamer shows a scattering of marks along the front hem and above, with another above the team crest, with some faint board burns on the elbows. Ververgaert wore #28 in his first season in Philadelphia but changed to #11 for the 58 games played in the '79-'80 regular season and 2 playoff games. This gamer was worn during the longest unbeaten streak in North American sports history – the Flyers' 35 consecutive games without a loss from Oct. 14 to Jan. 6th. Ververgaert’s gamer has the original nameplate with individually sewn letters, and to note - in 1979-80 the Flyers logo was slightly increased in size and the logo had slightly more angular wing tips. There was also a slight change in the widths of the fonts for the back nameplates, with the ’79-’80 version slightly narrower than the previous season. Ververgaert would skate in 583 regular season games in the bigs, tallying 392 total points with Vancouver, Philadelphia, and Washington.
